“I loosened my grip on control, then surrendered to the flow; and that’s how I healed me…..”
These are the lyrics to a song I have heard and have played many, many times in yoga classes. I only recently heard and felt the energy of each word as I listened in Savasana.
I probably don’t have to tell you this, but the need for control is all about the ego.
The ability to lean into a situation and surrender, letting go of control, becomes your spiritual strength.
The ability to be vulnerable in the moment, creates an ease of flow.
When things just aren’t feeling right, when you’re constantly knocking your head against the wall, I have learned, it’s best to take a step back from the situation.
Take a few deep breaths….
Hand it back to the Universe…..
Then, walk away from the moment, the person, the situation.
My version of “Loosening up your grip on control” does not mean giving in, it means letting go.
In love and light, Kathleen
