Welcome Winter Solstice

Today we welcome the Winter Solstice.

Winter Solstice is the first day of Winter and the shortest day of the year. It happens at the same instant everywhere on Earth. It’s at the precise moment when the Northern hemisphere is at its maximum tilt away from the sun.

The good news? From here the days get increasingly longer as we build up to the Summer Solstice in June.

Just about now, we all feel the lack of light. The desire to come home and put on our “Comfies” at 5 pm.

The Fall with its shorter days, is one of my favorite seasons. During the Spring and Summer, when I arrive home, I am exhausted from a long day, put feel pulled by the sunshine to throw on my sneakers and head back outside to hit a trail for a walk or the golf range to hit a few balls. Honestly? I would love nothing more than to crawl on to my couch with a good book and hunker down for the evening.

Mother Nature has a gentle way of telling us what our bodies need. Fall is for rest, rebuilding and replanting. Similar to the “New Moon,” it’s a time to give our bodies a break. To look at the darkness not as a place of sadness, but to revisit our inner wisdom.

This is where I went this Fall. I lovingly listened to my body, my intuition. My couch and fireplace called to me at night when I returned home. It is there that I took a closer look at my personal life and my business. In my journal I have reviewed 2023 and have begun planning a year of growth in 2024.

As Winter Solstice begins opening the beautiful eye of the Sun, I have begun smiling at the possibilities I have shared in my journal. My view of the future is expansive. The world is my oyster it’s anything I want it to be.

Take a moment today to sit in silence. Clear your mind and see yourself doing and being exactly the person you are meant to be in 2024!

Namaste,

Kathleen

  1. Isn’t the winter solstice the first day of winter and the SHORTEST day of the year?
